Do Prefilled Tanks Leak Easily?

I picked up a few Battlestar mods because some friends wanted them, so I passed a few along.
At the moment, I only have two left: the Bastion and the Battlestar? Paired with the Nautilus X, it’s practically perfect.
Recently I also got a KF5.
My first impression was: the KF5 is easy to use, with medium-level flavor and vapor production. This one doesn’t leak either, and it’s easy to build on. It can be driven at 9.2W/2.5V and performs quite well.
After using it for a week, it started leaking. I’m guessing it’s a sealing issue...
I reassembled it, packed the cotton more firmly, and tightened it up, and then the airflow hole stopped dripping.
I also tried running it at 6W.
I don’t dare fill the e-liquid all the way, only about 1/4 full.
Any better suggestions? I’m willing to try adjusting it.
Answer:
6W... brother, are you sure it’s even producing any vapor?
The KF5 isn’t a purely flavor-focused atomizer like the Goblin Mini. If you build it with wire around 1.5 ohms, honestly the performance is pretty average.
I recommend A1 28G triple-twisted wire, 5-6 wraps, around 0.5 ohms, and run it at about 32-35W.
As for leaking, with a KF5-style atomizer it usually comes down to closing the juice flow when filling, and when reopening it, turn it upside down first so air goes in before the e-liquid does.
The main thing when filling is to completely shut off the juice inlet. If the base has been dropped, sometimes it won’t close fully, and some excess e-liquid can flow into the chamber during filling. Just pack the cotton slightly and it won’t leak. Also, when reopening the juice inlet (the narrow slit), don’t unscrew it too far or it will leak. You can also try separating the top section from the base directly, then refill it upside down. The opening is a bit small, but it greatly reduces leaking.
I’ve personally used the original Wismec version, the Goblin Mini styled version, the KF5 styled version, and the original SJMY version. Only the SJMY ever leaked. From my own experience, I’ve summed it up in two points: first, the sealing gasket—I wrapped a ring of cotton inside the gasket; second, the atomizer should not be stored upside down. Since doing that, I haven’t had any leaking issues.
