The packaging continues SMOK's classic style, similar to previous products: a top and bottom cover with a pull-out design. The front features a rendering of the kit, with a white label indicating the color of the kit, and the bottom left displays the name SPECIES KIT. The ubiquitous MESH text and the icon of the mesh coil on the side constantly remind us that the kit's atomizer uses a mesh coil, supporting large vapor production.
Recently, I've been using pod systems more often, and everything seems large and bulky. However, the SPECIES V2, while it looks big, actually feels quite compact in hand. With dimensions of 82.1x49x30.6mm, it is just right for a dual-battery device, and the metal exterior feels substantial (but not heavy).
SMOK has rounded all the edges for a comfortable grip, and the overall shape tapers from top to bottom, enhancing the user's holding experience and fitting comfortably in the hand.
The front of the device features a large touch display that is extremely responsive, allowing users to monitor the device's status at any time. The newly upgraded UI is simple and clear, displaying various vapor data such as battery level, resistance, and puff count. Additionally, the system offers six display color options for customization.
Below the touch display is a lock button to prevent accidental operations. The back features a snake-skin pattern design typical of the SMOK family, which looks even cooler with the silver-black body.
The SPECIES V2 can output a maximum power of an astonishing 230 watts! You can produce as much vapor as you desire, feeling like you can blow bigger clouds with each puff. The SPECIES V2 uses two 18650 batteries for power and supports USB charging, eliminating the hassle of frequently changing batteries.
The top features a centered 510 gold-plated connector that makes good contact with the atomizer and is compatible with almost all atomizers on the market, allowing for either large vapor or flavor vaping depending on your mood.
On the side, there is a large fire button designed for a comfortable grip, producing a crisp sound when pressed. The feedback from the fire button is very satisfying, making it easy to operate. The fire button and the main body feel like one piece, making it seem like it could be activated by “thought” alone, haha.
