Forgot to take your RELX e-cigarette out of your pocket before washing clothes?

Forgot your RELX e-cigarette in the bathroom after taking a shower? What should careless RELX e-cigarette users do when faced with these issues? Can a RELX e-cigarette still be used after getting wet? Below, I will share some methods to deal with a wet RELX e-cigarette; learning these may help revive your device:

RELX Tips

Unplug the power supply:

No matter what type of electronic product it is, when you discover it has gotten wet, you should quickly unplug it; if it’s a keyboard, unplug the connection cable; if at home, turn off the main switch of the power outlet before unplugging the power supply; when handling the power plug, ensure your hands are dry, and it’s best to wear insulated gloves. If not available, you can wear several layers of dry gloves to prevent electric shock and ensure personal safety.

1. Remove moisture from the electronic device:

After unplugging the power supply, you need to start saving the electronic device. The most important thing is to dry the moisture on the device as quickly as possible; if it’s a phone or iPad, you can shake it to remove moisture; if it’s a keyboard, turn it upside down and tap it a few times; if it’s a washing machine, it has built-in protection measures, but you should still elevate it; if it’s a flood situation, place it on a bed.

2. Do not install a pod to test:

Many users’ first reaction when their e-cigarette gets wet is to install a pod to see if it still works. This is a big mistake, as it may cause a short circuit in an otherwise undamaged e-cigarette. Electronic devices are most afraid of water; when you discover it has gotten wet, do not turn it back on, as the internal circuit board may have already been wet. Just connecting the power could cause a short circuit, burn out the motherboard, and even produce smoke. It’s best to leave it in a well-ventilated area to air dry for three days, or you can place it in sunlight to dry.

3. Use drying equipment to dry the electronic device:

After removing surface moisture, there may still be water inside the electronic device, so you need to use drying equipment to dry it. Many workplaces have aging equipment or dryers; you can place it inside while they are working. For home use, a small clothes dryer will work, or you can use a hairdryer on a warm setting to dry it. If the electronic device can be disassembled, it’s best to take it apart and carefully blow dry the circuit board and crevices to remove small water droplets.

4. Follow-up issues:

After drying the moisture inside the electronic device, it’s best to leave it for a few days, as it’s uncertain whether there is still moisture inside; the electronic device may have already been damaged when it first got wet, or it may not have been damaged. Of course, even if the electronic device is restored, the electronic components' pins may rust or oxidize, and the battery will definitely swell and be damaged if it gets wet, so it’s best to replace it with a new one!
