Today, I want to introduce a very popular small pod device that I personally love: the VTV.

Currently, the manufacturer has expanded this device to many colors and flavors, now offering 14 options, with rumors of two more flavors to be released, showing a lot of sincerity and effort from this brand.

Unboxing the VTV Electronic Cigarette PHY-ANT

Inside the box, there is a 50mg pod included, and the original packaging also comes with a high-quality data cable, which is a great plus. The big advantage is that it uses a standard Micro USB data cable, so you don’t have to carry multiple cables.

Looking at the device's specifications, although its battery capacity is 380mAh, in practice, it needs to be charged every half day; otherwise, the flavor and vapor production will diminish.

Notably, the pod claims to provide 650 to 999 puffs, as the draw resistance is quite high, making the vapor output smaller, which results in a more realistic smoking experience. I tested it and found that I finished one pod from Monday morning to Friday morning, averaging about two to two and a half pods a week. I think if someone uses two pods every two days, the VTV could last three days on one pod, making it very economical.

VTV Electronic Cigarette PNY-ANY Flavor Introduction

The original pods come in 50mg and 20mg options, with the 50mg being black and the 20mg white, allowing lighter smokers to choose the 20mg option, which is a thoughtful choice.

First, I tried the number one flavor, and the draw resistance is very similar to that of a regular cigarette, with a very delicate flavor that resembles real smoke. There’s not much heat, unlike vapor, and the throat hit is very satisfying, but it feels smooth, unlike the harshness of many small pods. The flavor is like a nutty tobacco with a hint of caramel cream, making it a layered flavor with a slight sweetness.

Additionally, there are other advantages, such as the mouthpiece being very comfortable, perfectly fitting the lips, and the condensation design is excellent, with almost no condensation being inhaled. Lastly, the draw activation is very sensitive; I generally prefer to take light puffs rather than forcefully inhaling like with larger devices, which is a significant plus for me.

  • Yogurt: I also tried the yogurt flavor, which I really like. It has a taste reminiscent of Yakult, with a slightly lower throat hit than the number one flavor, but still very noticeable, with a sweet and sour taste and a rich flavor.
  • Ice Freeze: This flavor is quite icy, and the coolness reduces the throat hit, but for me, it’s still very sufficient. The flavor has a hint of light fruitiness, and this mild flavor is quite enjoyable without being overwhelming.
  • Vitamin C Ice: This flavor feels like C+ soda, with a hint of lemon flavor, and a slightly sour taste.
  • Peak Noble: This flavor is like chocolate, but the exhaled vapor has a hint of malt flavor, with a slightly sweet taste.
  • Mango: This flavor is more like a mildly cool mango candy, not quite like real mango, but it has a strong aroma and is one of the best mango flavors I’ve tried, with a slightly sweet taste.
  • Coke: This flavor is also well-replicated, with no coolness and no taste.
  • Green Tea: This flavor is more like a floral green tea, with a sweet taste and a bit of coolness.
  • Original Flavor: This flavor is essentially an upgraded version of MT's winter melon tea, but with a stronger throat hit and smoother feel, with a sweet taste.
  • Butter: This flavor tastes like pudding, with a sweet taste, but can become a bit cloying if vaped for too long.
  • Fruit Party: This flavor is a mix of fruits, but feels like peach, with no taste.
  • Black Ice: This flavor is not as icy as Ice Freeze, but still somewhat cool. I haven’t tried blackcurrant, but I find the aroma rich and very enjoyable, with no taste, resembling blueberry.
  • Honeymoon: This flavor is lychee, with a bit of coolness, but the throat hit is weaker; it’s said to be 35mg, which is a bit disappointing.
  • Signal Pod: This flavor is watermelon, and it tastes good, but the throat hit is also weaker...

So far, I find each flavor quite good (I have a high acceptance level), but I was a bit disappointed with the satisfaction from the watermelon and lychee flavors.

Moreover, the differences in throat hit among the flavors are not very significant (except for Honeymoon and Signal Pod), so as long as you like the flavor, you won’t find yourself lacking satisfaction.

As for refilling the pods, I find it quite simple; you just need to find the right method. However, the original pod flavors must be cleaned thoroughly, as I found that mixing certain flavors can become very unpleasant. Otherwise, it’s better to use similar flavors to refill, which will prevent misunderstandings about why the VTV's self-refilled oil performs poorly.

I’ve let friends who smoke traditional cigarettes try the MT and VTV, and almost everyone prefers the VTV. Generally, first-time users of nicotine salts may cough due to throat irritation, but the VTV is less harsh, making the throat hit feel more like traditional cigarettes, making it a great tool for converting traditional smokers.

I wonder if readers have ever tried hand-rolled tobacco, like Stanley, which is quite harsh, or Magellan, which has a strong throat hit but is smooth. I’ve heard there’s a blue can that’s even harsher and smoother; that’s the kind of feeling this gives.

VTV Electronic Cigarette PHY-ANT Drawbacks

Finally, let’s talk about the drawbacks. Sometimes the device can get a bit hot during use, especially compared to MT, and the battery life isn’t great. Currently, there are reports online that the first-generation pods leak oil; friends have tested and found leaks or burnt pods. The manufacturer has responded that there are now third-generation pods, and I’ve tested one and found no leaks or burning. However, the pods may still have some defective products, and there have been instances of oil being inhaled when the draw resistance is empty, which can cause leaks. This issue is common across many brands of small pods, so it’s not overly critical. The solution is to shake the pod and store it upright, which helps, but improvements are limited. I’ve heard that VTV plans to upgrade the pod structure, so we can only hope that the new pods will provide a better experience.

VTV Pod Actual Shot

As for the flavor of the pods, I find them to be consistently good, with minimal differences in throat hit. This small pod is one I highly recommend for converting traditional smokers.

However, for those accustomed to vaping, many find the draw resistance too high, but the high draw resistance leads to savings, so preferences vary among users.
