What updates does it have with the already mature TFV8 nebulizer? The second major increase is that its oil tank is equipped with 2 specifications, a larger-capacity lantern-shaped standard oil tank and a more conventional and portable cylindrical oil tank.   The third major change is the addition of an additional safety latch on the upper cover of the atomizer to prevent the upper cover from opening by mistake. Although it is not common for the TFV8 series to be opened by mistake, this thoughtful design further improves ease of use.   Let's take a look at the measured parameters first: Since there are two designs for its shape, there are also two sets of parameters. The measured length is both 62 mm. The outer diameter of the lantern-shaped large-capacity oil bin reaches an astonishing 28mm, while the cylindrical oil bin The outer diameter is the regular 24.5 mm.   There is little difference in weight between the two oil tanks, both of which are about 65 grams. The overall weight control is very good. Compared with the TFV8 Big Baby's weight of 58 grams, it is only 7 grams more.   In view of the different capacities of the two oil chambers, a 5ml syringe was used respectively to inhale 5ml of tobacco oil and inject it into the atomizer. The stop scale was observed to judge its capacity. The results showed that the capacity of the lantern chamber was 5ml and that of the cylindrical chamber was 3.5ml. But don't worry. After the atomizing core is completely moistened, you can continue to add about 3ml of tobacco oil. This is due to the changes brought about by its exaggerated large atomizing core. Therefore, for a new unused atomizer, about 8ml, or 6.5 ml of tobacco oil can be added at a time, which is consistent with the official data.   Structurally, the TFV12 Prince atomizer continues the simple structural idea of the TFV8 family. It has only five components and is easy to use even for newcomers.   The following is an introduction of each component in the assembly order: First, this redesigned and very special drip nozzle, whose shape continues the large straight tube design of the TFV8 series, prompting it to focus on the use of large smoke. The biggest change is that it adopts a new snake gradient color texture, abandoning the usual black drip nozzle design, which is quite eye-catching.   The overall structure of the upper cover is similar to that of the TFV8 series. The same idea is for opening the upper cover. However, there are two major improvements in the details. One is the addition of a lid opening lock button, which can only be opened after being pressed. The other is that the upper cover has added anti-slip grooves, which makes it easier to disassemble the atomizer when opening with greater friction.   The front and back designs are very close to the TFV8 series and are easy to use.   Press the button and open the upper cover in the direction marked on the front, and you can easily inject oil. This is the biggest feature of the TFV series nebulizer, so the TFV12 is also retained.   The glass oil bin is newly designed and adopts a large-capacity oil bin similar to a lantern shape. Of course, for users who like to return to classics, the packaging is also equipped with a standard cylindrical spare oil bin.   TFV12 has a new label, so the atomizing core has also been completely designed. This time we saw very exaggerated large finished atomizing cores, which are 0.4 and 0.12 respectively. Their size and volume are about 2 TFV8 Big Baby finished atomizing cores. After disassembly, the inside is actually 4 coils stacked instead of a single coil; 0.12 on the right side is 5 holes, with each hole stacked with two coils, which is a 10-coil structure.   The bottom positive pole has a prominent design, consistent with the TFV8 series. It uses a dual air intake system to enhance the taste.   The base is designed with a large air intake hole, which returns to the bottom air intake of the TFV8 Baby series. Instead of adopting the top air intake idea of the newly launched TFV8 X-Baby series, it is believed that it is still to provide greater air intake to ensure the amount of smoke. The base, like the upper cover, also has a non-slip groove design.   The internal air chamber has a large space to ensure the air intake volume. The bottom electrode protrudes about 2mm after the atomizing core is installed, and the use of the mechanical rod is not a problem.   During assembly, first screw the atomizing core onto the base, place the glass chamber on the upper cover, and then tighten the entire atomizer, so that the glass chamber will not be broken in a hurry.   [MAG host appearance]   Although the newly launched TFV12 Prince atomizer in the set has brought many new improvements, the MAG host is too eye-catching this time, so the focus is on the MAG host. At a time when the square box is already visually tiring, launching such a special-shaped host is really eye-catching.   Let's take a look at the measured data first. The measured measurements of the mainframe are: length 91.5mm, width 65mm, and thickness 31mm. Because it is a special design, it is not easy to directly compare the measurements with the square box. Overall, the thickness is controlled very ideal.   In terms of weight, the weight of the net mainframe is 263 grams, and the working weight of two VTC4 18650 batteries is 353 grams, which is 111 grams heavier than the slim and portable SMOK ProColor dual-electric mainframe. It is a bit stressful. Let's see where the key is.   The front of the MAG console is in the shape of a pistol body, which is also the origin of its nickname for the pistol console. A square screen measuring about 1.2 inches is inlaid in the center of the front, which uses the same high-definition color screen as the ProColor mainframe, and the display is very delicate and clear. The black background color blends into the black acrylic trim board on the butt, making it very beautiful.   In order to protect this panel with a large front area, it is covered with a protective film when it is shipped from the factory and can be removed when using it.   There is a round button in the upper right corner of the front. This is the release button for the battery compartment. It is of moderate size and feels good to press. It feels good to press and is easy to adjust. The MicroUSB data port is designed below the +/-button. In actual measurement, it can be used to balance charging the built-in battery, and the host firmware can also be upgraded in the future.   The shape of the back and front of the mainframe is consistent. The top also has three sets of 6 cooling holes, an ergonomic groove design, and a streamlined and rounded transition on the sides. A carbon fiber sticker is used to decorate the panel at the main body, which looks very classy. The product logo is printed below. The small black block in the upper left corner is the locking block for the front magazine release button.   The front side is designed with a trigger, that is, the main engine ignition button. It looks a lot like plastic material. Just press it gently. The buttons are also ergonomically treated, with a crescent shape in the middle, which is very close to your fingers.   Therefore, when you hold it in your hand as shown in the figure below, the thumb has a comfortable groove area, the index finger has a comfortable crescent area, and the remaining three fingers also have a dedicated resting area. This way, the feeling of holding is very comfortable, and the edges and corners are also rounded, making it feel much closer to your hand than a general square box.   A black baffle plate is very simply designed on the back side with 5 cooling holes. The overall shape is wavy along with the main body's streamlined shape to improve the feeling of holding.   The top 510 electrode is rarely designed in the center of the machine. The negative stainless steel contact surface expands into a ring and is significantly higher than the top surface by about 1mm, which can effectively prevent the atomizer from scratching the top paint. The brass positive electrode is a flexible electrode, which is effectively compatible with various specifications of 510 nebulizers.   The bottom is designed as a battery compartment with the CE logo printed. Due to its special pop-up structure, in order to ensure its durability, the bottom plate of the battery compartment is made of metal.   Popping out the battery compartment shows that in addition to the bottom plate, the entire battery compartment is actually made of metal. In order to prevent unnecessary short circuit events caused by the battery skin breaking (the circuit of the host itself also has anti-short circuit protection), the interior of the battery compartment is lined with a circle of plastic film, and it is best not to destroy it when using it. There is a battery direction sign on the battery compartment. The battery is placed in the direction. Then, insert the battery into the host. When the sound card is in place, you can fix it when you hear a click. Note that the battery compartment is directional when placed into the mainframe.   [Host Function]   The MAG mainframe covers all the current mainstream functions, including the power, temperature control, preset and other functions common to previous SMOK high-end consoles. It also includes all-round built-in security such as overheating protection, low resistance protection, short circuit protection, and reverse connection protection. The protection functions are also wiped out.   Since the MAG host has introduced a high-end high-pixel color screen, the screen display layout of the MAG host this time abandons the traditional style of previous SMO models and adopts the same new structure as the previously launched ProColor host. Remove all the external and internal screws that can be seen on the mainframe. The only thing you need to pay attention to is that there is a screw on the battery release button. There is also a small screw that is not easy to find inside it on the opposite side, and then it can be disassembled like this:   Let's first take a look at the configuration of several buttons. All of them are made of metal, including small buttons as the +/-button, which are also made of metal, so the overall tactile feedback is very solid and more durable.   The front and rear panels are made of zinc alloy. The design of the shaped plates is very clever. Of course, the requirements on the process are even higher. It requires very precision to ensure that every hole position fits perfectly.   The motherboard and the internal battery compartment fixing plate are bonded together. The display screen is in the center of the front. The main control is fixed below the screen and invisible. Judging from the overall structure, it should be closer to the ProColor solution.   The biggest change this time is the electrode, which is relatively rare to use an integrated closed electrode, which can effectively avoid the infiltration of tobacco oil and will have higher durability. A metal plate is pasted on the top of the opposite side of the inductor for passive heat dissipation, and the heat dissipation hole on the top of the housing is also facing this position. In this way, the heat dissipation effect should be quite good.   The battery compartment and the motherboard can be seen on the back. In order to ensure the durability of the combination with the battery compartment, this back plate is also made of metal. The return electrode for individual battery management is visible at the bottom.   Dismantling summary: Overall, the inside and outside of this MAG, including small parts, are almost completely made of metal. Even the plastic battery compartment of the general mainframe is replaced with metal, which shows that it is necessary to improve the durability and comfort of this mainframe. The materials are very generous, which also explains why this mainframe reaches a net weight of 263 grams despite the fact that the overall size is not particularly exaggerated. Detailed designs such as integrated electrodes and passive heat sinks also reflect the well-intentioned starting point of this host.   [Host power curve output test]   For actual use, the power output depends on the amount of smoke and taste experience. Therefore, a current, voltage and power meter is used in series on the electrode to directly measure the output power, and a TTL-USB communication module is used to upload real-time data to the computer, intercept its relevant measurement data, and make a graph, so that its power output is more digital.   Starting with ProColor, SMOK's power output seems to have some new adjustment ideas. Let's first look at the output of 225W. We used a 0.13 battery and two fully charged VTC4 batteries to test its 225W power output, and successfully obtained a maximum power output of 227W. Due to the influence of DC discharge, the power in the later stage has a downward trend. An average power output of 207W can be obtained in the 12-second test interval (12 seconds is the safety protection period of the ProColor host), and the output decline trend in the later stage is more obvious. However, this does not affect its daily experience, because usually at this power output, the ignition will not exceed 2 seconds.   At the output of 150W, it can be seen that the output in the first half is very direct, reaching a maximum of 156W, while in the second half, it drops slightly, with a minimum of 145W, and an average of 150W is obtained in the overall 12 seconds. power output.   At 100W, it has almost the same output method, and it is the same output style of raising first and then suppressing.   Test summary: The output of SMOK, a MAG mainframe, more considers the user's instantaneous experience of ignition, and has been adjusted accordingly for this usage habit. Normally, the smoking ignition time is within 2 seconds, so we can see that in the first 2 seconds of output, it shows a very direct and slightly higher output than the nominal value, and then there is a slight decline in the subsequent period. This adjustment is somewhat similar to the previously launched SMOK ProColor mainframe, but it can be seen from the MAG mainframe that the adjustment is more mature, and the fluctuations before and after are much smaller and relatively smoother.   [Experience]   In addition to its unique appearance and attracting passers-by, this MAG suit is also pleasant to use in actual times. The first is its ergonomically shaped design. When holding it correctly, it is very close to your hand. Ignition and battery change can be done in one go. It is quite easy. For us who have been playing with toy guns since childhood, we don't need to adapt at all. This mainframe is not suitable for use with reverse grip. The reverse grip shown in the figure below can also be ignited, but obviously there is no need at all. In terms of weight, due to its heavy, durable and solid materials, it is indeed a bit stressful, but it actually has a practical experience of holding a gun. If it feels light, it will have the cheap feeling of a plastic toy.   In terms of returning to the original smoking experience, MAG's output is very direct and violent, responds without delay, and is fast and direct. This is partly because its maximum output of 225W is not a problem whether it is used to meet smoke practice or daily cigarette replacement. On the other hand, because its output in the first 2 seconds is slightly higher than the nominal value, its explosive power of ignition is very straightforward. The newly configured TFV12 Prince atomizer, thanks to its newly designed atomizing core, brings a slightly different smoking experience from the TFV8 Big Baby. Because its atomizing core is thicker and higher in height, the contact area between the heating wire and the tobacco oil is larger, so the atomization efficiency of the tobacco oil is higher. In terms of use experience, the smoke is larger and the taste becomes stronger. The personal subjective experience of the new atomizer has new efficiency improvements compared with the TFV8 series. However, at the same time, the cost is that the consumption of tobacco oil has also increased significantly. Fortunately, the oil storage capacity has been increased to a maximum of 8ml, so daily use is not a big problem.   In addition, SMOK has launched a new menu system on the MAG mainframe, coupled with color display, so its operation will be more beautiful and intuitive, and it will be easier to get started, which will be more friendly for newcomers. Of course, Chinese menus should become mainstream in the future.
