   According to reports, Roger Cook, the Health Minister of New South Wales, is actively promoting raising the legal smoking age to 21. Currently, nearly 17% of young people aged 16 to 24 in New South Wales smoke, and the government will discuss this issue at a high-level meeting on the 14th.

    Anyone caught smoking in public places or on public transport in New South Wales will face a fine of AUD 550, even if they are using e-cigarettes that do not contain real nicotine.     At the same time, the New South Wales government has announced a complete ban on e-cigarettes. Scott Walsberger, the tobacco control manager, stated, "I am pleased to see New South Wales aligning with other states." Additionally, this regulation also requires retailers selling e-cigarettes to report to the New South Wales Health Department.
