 Currently, there are many types of e-liquids on the market, so friends who are new to vaping or have been vaping for a while may not know how to choose the flavor and nicotine strength of e-liquids after purchasing an e-cigarette. They usually look at reviews from "experts" on vaping forums to decide which e-liquids to buy. However, everyone has different tastes, and what experts find good may not suit you. Often, wrong choices in e-liquid flavor and strength can lead to nausea and vomiting, causing a loss of taste while searching for the right e-liquid. Here, I will provide a detailed introduction on how to choose the right concentration and flavor to avoid harming your taste buds.

  How to choose e-liquid flavors and nicotine strength

1. Choosing e-liquid flavors

E-liquid flavors are mainly divided into four categories: tobacco, fruit, herbal, and cream. Aspire currently offers over a hundred flavors of e-liquids, including imported and self-developed options. It is particularly important to note that if you are choosing e-liquids to quit smoking, it is best to select tobacco-flavored e-liquids, as these provide a taste closer to traditional cigarettes, helping smokers avoid aversion to e-cigarettes during the initial phase of quitting.

If you are not quitting smoking, choose based on your preferences or popular flavors, so you won't doubt your choices (if you pick a particularly strange flavor, you might really question your life choices).

Your preferred flavors will definitely be discovered over time. If you can find a long-term favorite e-liquid right from the start, consider yourself lucky.

2. Choosing nicotine strength for e-liquids

Currently, e-liquids come in nicotine strengths of 0mg, 1.5mg, 3mg, 6mg, and 12mg.

The nicotine content varies among different cigarettes, and each person smokes different amounts daily. To choose the most suitable e-liquid for transitioning from cigarettes to vaping, you first need to understand the nicotine data on cigarette packs and e-liquid bottles.

Calculation method for nicotine content in e-liquids:

6mg means the nicotine content per 1ml of e-liquid, not the total nicotine content in a bottle of e-liquid.

6mg/ml * 30ml = 180mg

Calculation method for nicotine content in cigarettes:

0.5mg refers to the nicotine content in one cigarette. The nicotine content in a pack of cigarettes (20 cigarettes) is:

0.5mg * 20 = 10mg

If a person smokes a pack of cigarettes a day, their daily nicotine intake would be 10mg.

If using 2ml of e-liquid daily, it is recommended to choose 5mg e-liquid. However, since 5mg e-liquids are not commonly available, opting for 6mg is fine.

10mg = 2ml * 5mg/ml

Thus, for those aiming to quit smoking, starting with e-liquids of 6mg or higher is more suitable (based on daily smoking habits), as the throat hit from higher nicotine content closely resembles that of traditional cigarettes. However, over time, as you become accustomed to vaping, choosing e-liquids of 6mg or higher may feel very harsh, leading to coughing or discomfort, which may be attributed to the e-liquid being unsuitable. In such cases, you can try e-liquids with a nicotine content of 3mg, where the previously harsh e-liquids become smoother without losing the throat hit. Gradually reducing nicotine strength can help achieve the goal of quitting smoking.
