A New Product, A New Experience — Get to Know the Fourth-Generation IQOS

IQOS e-cigarettes are familiar to everyone. In the past two years, whether among celebrities or friends around us, there are plenty of IQOS users.

I am also a loyal user of IQOS. After quitting cigarettes with it last year, I have been using it ever since. IQOS has a milder craving and poses much less harm than traditional cigarettes. From a smoking perspective, it is a much better choice than cigarettes. Recently, their fourth-generation IQOS product has been launched, which retains the advantages of no ash and lower harm while making many new attempts, representing a refined update.

Among the several generations of IQOS released, the unchanging aspect is its—heating without burning technology. Many of the advantages of this e-cigarette are due to this technology. Take the lower harm aspect, for example; besides the low nicotine and tar content in IQOS tobacco, another reason is that IQOS only heats: the majority of the harm caused by smoking is due to the incomplete combustion of tobacco, which produces a large amount of tar in the smoke. This substance puts significant pressure on the lungs, posing a considerable safety hazard to both smokers and their families. However, IQOS only releases nicotine through heating, so the temperature does not reach the high levels of incomplete combustion, greatly reducing the release of tar and similar substances.

This is also the reason why I have always trusted only IQOS as my e-cigarette. For smokers, the most precious thing is health. If there is a relatively less harmful option, why not choose it? Additionally, as a new product released this year, the fourth-generation IQOS not only inherits the heating without burning hardware technology but also makes new attempts in appearance.

In previous iterations, IQOS updates focused on enhancing hardware usability. This time, the changes in appearance surprised me. The materials of the smoke rod and heater have been changed to a matte finish, and the shape of the heater has also been redesigned with a side opening, making it look more high-end. Moreover, the matte texture of these two devices feels very comfortable in hand, providing a great tactile experience. These improvements in detail show that the IQOS technical team has put in a lot of effort.

IQOS e-cigarette users fall into two categories: those who use e-cigarettes to quit smoking and those who use e-cigarettes as a substitute for traditional cigarettes. Regardless of which category, both are understandable. Ideally, quitting smoking altogether is best, but if quitting is difficult, switching to a less harmful option like IQOS is a better choice for health, especially since IQOS has a milder craving and does not lead to the uncontrollable addiction that traditional cigarettes can.

Therefore, I believe this new fourth-generation IQOS is worth buying.
