Sharing My IQOS Experience and Some Buying Tips
Since I decided to quit smoking, I have been using the IQOS electronic cigarette as a transition. I have had my IQOS for over three months and have used it for a while, so I have a certain understanding of it. I would like to share my experience with the IQOS electronic cigarette and some buying tips for your reference.
Actually, I wanted to buy an IQOS electronic cigarette last year, but due to financial constraints, I never had the chance. At the beginning of this year, I was smoking regular cigarettes, about a pack a day, and after finishing, I would feel uncomfortable in my mouth, especially in the morning when I would wake up with a bad taste. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I finally decided to get one.
I remember when I first got the IQOS, I was very excited and curious, as I had been thinking about it for so long. The tobacco sticks and the device are integrated, but when using it for the first time, you must insert the stick into the device to fully charge it and activate it.
Then I charged it, and during this time, I looked online to see how to use it correctly. I carefully inserted the tobacco stick into the device and pressed the power button for 2 seconds. It vibrated, indicating that it was starting to heat up, and once the indicator light was steady, I could start enjoying it. Since I couldn't stand the taste of regular cigarettes, I was really looking forward to the flavor of the IQOS. The first puff made me realize what it felt like to not have a tar taste! I found it quite amazing. I chose the amber flavor, and I don't know if it's because of the flavor, but the first puff felt a little scratchy in my throat. However, after a few puffs, I got used to it, and the taste was quite nice and rich.
In my personal experience, one tobacco stick can be puffed about 13-14 times. If you usually take bigger puffs, you might find it a bit less. After finishing, it generally takes about 2 minutes to reheat. After finishing a stick, be sure to push the top part of the device before pulling out the tobacco stick; do not pull it out directly.
When you take out the tobacco stick, you can see that there is indeed no burned tobacco leaf; it just uses high temperatures of around 300 degrees to heat the tobacco leaf, effectively preventing tar from entering your mouth. Here’s a point about the tobacco stick: the heating element only heats the middle part, while the surrounding areas are not heated, which I personally feel is a bit wasteful.
Next, let me mention some points to pay attention to:
1. I have previously shared various flavors of tobacco sticks; you can find them in my earlier articles;
2. After finishing a tobacco stick, be sure to push it out before pulling it out; this is very important;
3. After smoking 2-3 sticks, you should do a small cleaning; proper cleaning can prolong the device's lifespan;
4. After finishing a pack (20 sticks), you must clean it with a cotton swab to prevent tar from slowly seeping into the heating element.
In conclusion, after using the IQOS for two or three days, I found that when I smoked or smelled regular cigarettes, they tasted very bitter, and I couldn't accept that flavor at all. I have completely stopped smoking regular cigarettes and switched to the IQOS electronic cigarette. I believe this has helped me quit smoking. If you also want to get rid of traditional cigarettes, I recommend using the IQOS electronic cigarette as a transition.
