Blue Dragon Route 66 California Red e-liquid review
Today, I am here to review an imported e-liquid from the USA, the California Route 66 Red. Yes, this e-liquid is produced by the American company Blue Dragon. The company describes the flavor of this e-liquid as a mix of over ten fruits combined with a cocktail flavor, which is typical of many American e-liquids that blend everything together. This e-liquid shares similarities with Blue Dragon.
The ROUTE 66 California Red comes in a transparent frosted bottle, and the e-liquid has a smooth pink hue. The label prominently features the essence of Route 66's automotive culture: a beloved car, a blue sky, and a long road trip without looking back.
From the side label, we learn that this product is made in the USA and has undergone strict FDA inspections. It is available in two sizes: 30ML and 60ML. Interestingly, my pet, who usually shows little interest, became curious about this bottle. I’m not sure what triggered its curiosity—was it the color? The scent? Either way, it certainly looks appetizing.
To fully experience the sensations this e-liquid brings, I prepared several coil builds: triple-core Clapton, dual-core Clapton, and dual wires twisted together six times.
01 Triple-Core Clapton
I’m not sure if it’s due to the dripping and rapid heating, but no matter how I vape, I only get a sweet and sour flavor with a hint of mild mint. While the overall experience is somewhat similar to Blue Dragon, it feels like there’s a significant gap between them. It’s simply a mild sweet and sour with a very light coolness. The sweetness is also on the lighter side, with just a hint of sourness remaining. However, for some reason, this e-liquid delivers a moderately strong throat hit that feels quite satisfying.
02 Dual-Core Clapton, Dual Wires Twisted
I won’t separate these two builds because the experience is basically the same. The sweetness is slightly enhanced, but still low, while the minty coolness has increased. The throat hit has weakened, but the flavor is still decent. Since I couldn’t get a good experience with the dripping atomizer, I quickly pulled out my DIY tank.
This time, I finally managed to extract the flavor of the e-liquid quite perfectly. Upon inhalation, there’s a rich aroma, and the sweetness has improved to a moderate level. The mint remains mild, similar to Blue Dragon. Due to the characteristics of American e-liquids and the company’s consistent style, it’s quite challenging to pinpoint specific flavors. Personally, I feel like I’m vaping a mild mint-flavored mixed fruit drink, roughly akin to Pepsi’s tropical fruit flavor. Yes, that’s the taste.
Conclusion
This e-liquid may cater more to American tastes, as I couldn’t quite identify the tropical fruits within it. However, it doesn’t stray far from the essence of e-liquids, blending fruits with a cocktail flavor, making it feel like a chaotic mix of fruit juice and cocktails. Many of you may have experienced products from American eJuice companies, known for their mixed flavors and high fidelity. The ROUTE 66 California Red inherits the characteristics of the eJuice company, with a high degree of blending and a taste experience that feels ambiguous, lacking a precise main line. The flavor changes significantly under different atomizer settings. It’s a “specialty drink” that can be enjoyed in any season but will never have a precise identification. Personally, I feel this e-liquid is not particularly suitable for dripping atomizers; it should perform better in a tank. Given the characteristics of Blue Dragon and American e-liquids, I believe everyone will have a different flavor experience with this e-liquid.
