The reason is simple: there isn't enough cotton to absorb the e-liquid, causing it to flow out excessively and saturate the coil, leading to spitback and possibly leaking. Regardless of whether it's a dripping or tank atomizer, insufficient cotton increases the gap between the cotton and the heating coil, allowing e-liquid to accumulate in that small space, which can lead to spitback when fired. The solution is straightforward: do not use fancy wires on devices that do not support them, or avoid using high-spec, high-wattage wires that the atomizer cannot handle.     5. Excessive Power     Excessive power is mainly seen in dripping atomizers; in tank atomizers, it can lead to burnt coils. The reason is simple: dripping atomizers are usually filled from the top, and the heating wire can develop a layer of e-liquid residue. If the temperature suddenly spikes, it can cause spitback. However, spitback caused by excessive power is not very common. The solution is to adjust your device to avoid high voltage; if a 24mm or larger dripping atomizer experiences spitback at 4.0V or below, it is not a power issue. Similarly, if a 22mm dripping atomizer experiences spitback at 3.5V or below, it is also not a power issue.     6. Insufficient Power     Insufficient power is mainly seen in tank atomizers, while it is rare in dripping atomizers and usually manifests as thin vapor. The reason is not complicated: tank atomizers often use a negative pressure wicking structure, which allows the negative pressure created by inhaling to push e-liquid through the wicking holes to the cotton. As long as your inhalation rhythm is steady, the e-liquid supply to the heating coil is consistent. However, if the power is too low, the coil cannot vaporize the e-liquid quickly enough, leading to excessive accumulation of e-liquid in the coil, resulting in spitback. The solution is to continuously adjust the power to find the appropriate setting.     7. User Error     What does this mean? It mainly refers to users who are hesitant to take deep puffs when using high-wattage atomizers for the first time, fearing injury.
