Just like when choosing a mobile phone based on its CPU, many users currently focus on the ceramic core when purchasing closed pod vaping devices. This is because a high-performance ceramic core can not only reduce many troubles but also provide users with an almost perfect experience. Today, I will share a product that uses a proprietary ceramic core developed by ALD, a company with significant achievements in ceramic core research.
1. ALD SILMO E-Cigarette Packaging

The packaging of the ALD SILMO closed pod vaping device has a strong sci-fi aesthetic. Its proprietary ceramic core is prominently printed on the packaging, adding a touch of mystery to the product. However, compared to well-known pod devices, the packaging of the ALD SILMO appears slightly smaller.
Upon removing the packaging, you will find: 1* ALD SILMO device, 1* specification card, 2* pods, and 1* USB charging cable. From the internal configuration, it can be confirmed that the ALD SILMO received is a testing version, while the mass-produced version will likely have new packaging.
2. ALD SILMO E-Cigarette Appearance

The ALD SILMO has a full shape and balanced proportions, with smooth edges providing an excellent hand feel.
Additionally, with the included lanyard, the ALD SILMO offers another carrying option, allowing it to be hung around the neck for easy access without rummaging through pockets.
The version received is a red-blue gradient, which visually feels a bit too bright; I personally prefer a single color tone. The ALD SILMO has a standard battery capacity of 360mAh, which is a reasonable balance between battery life, weight, and size, and the decent charging speed with a USB universal charging port is sufficient for regular daily use.
The design of the ALD SILMO pod is quite thoughtful, with a flat mouthpiece design that facilitates a comfortable fit with the lips, and the internal tapered design effectively reduces the possibility of condensation at the mouthpiece. Additionally, the good transparency allows users to monitor the e-liquid level inside the pod.
To ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the pod, a silicone cap is included, which not only makes inhalation more comfortable but also prevents cross-contamination from saliva after multiple uses. The connection method between the pod and the device is a common embedded magnetic design, which is more convenient and durable than a clip-on design, ensuring a secure and tight fit.
3. ALD SILMO E-Cigarette Atomization Technology

The biggest highlight of the ALD SILMO is its atomization technology. The ceramic core of the ALD SILMO uses the self-developed Silmo 3.0 (Note: SILMO is a proprietary electronic atomization technology of ALD).
It is made using microporous ceramics as the substrate, employing thick film printing technology with metal slurry, and creating a new heating element by coating the ceramic surface, thus providing users with a better flavor experience. Similar technology was previously introduced with the FEELM inside ceramic core, but upon disassembling the ALD SILMO pod, it is evident that there are significant differences between the two.
Silmo 3.0 adopts a pinless contact conductive design. As shown in the image, after assembling the ceramic core, the two electrodes directly contact the S-shaped metal coating on the ceramic substrate without any manual soldering, which avoids contamination from soldering and raises the manufacturing process's requirements.
At the same time, Silmo 3.0 features a concave drainage groove design, which also possesses characteristics such as fast oil delivery, large heating area, and uniform heat distribution. Thus, it can be seen that Silmo 3.0 and FEELM inside each have their strengths in design. Through hands-on comparison, both are comparable in flavor restoration, absorption, oil retention, and leak resistance.
4. ALD SILMO E-Cigarette Pods

The packaging includes two flavors of pods: Green Bean Paste and Nut Tobacco, both with a 20mg nicotine content. However, the flavors are not labeled on the pods, making it difficult to distinguish between them; it would be better to have labels. The flavor selection also needs further enrichment.
Green Bean Paste: This flavor has become a standard option; it's indeed very enjoyable to vape during the hot summer, seemingly providing cooling and refreshing effects, especially when paired with spicy hot pot, creating a unique sensation. The flavor retains the natural aroma of green beans, which is richer and purer compared to some brands, delivering a cool throat hit that sweeps through the brain when inhaled, making one feel completely comfortable.
Nut Tobacco: The tobacco flavor is quite clear before inhalation, with the nut flavor becoming prominent in the aftertaste, leaving a lingering effect in the mouth. When exhaling, the nut flavor is more pronounced.
5. ALD SILMO E-Cigarette Review Summary
Today, I shared the ALD SILMO, whose ceramic core features a pinless design, which is undoubtedly the biggest highlight. However, this may increase the difficulty of reconstruction. For safety reasons, all ceramic cores have a certain lifespan requirement; if reconstructing, it is recommended to refill only two pods at a time; if more, be cautious of powder loss.
