Xiwu Vape Review: The Slide-Out Hidden Mouthpiece Design Is Truly Excellent

Because I have used vapes for several years, I know a bit about the category. Xiwu was founded by Xing Chenyue, the inventor of nicotine salts, which is certainly a strong credential. To briefly explain, the invention of nicotine salts had a major impact
Having used e-cigarettes for several years, I have a bit of knowledge about them. Xiwu e-cigarettes were founded by Xing Chenyue, the inventor of nicotine salts, which is quite a solid background.

To briefly explain, the invention of nicotine salts has had a significant impact on the e-cigarette industry. This is because e-liquids containing nicotine salts, during the vaporization process, vaporize both nicotine and organic acids, resulting in a much lower free nicotine content in the vapor compared to the smoke produced by earlier e-cigarettes. The balance of acidity and alkalinity reduces the irritation to the mouth, throat, and respiratory tract. Excessive freebase nicotine in the vapor can easily cause coughing, meaning that most of the nicotine does not reach the lungs and cross the blood-brain barrier.

In simple terms, nicotine salts make e-cigarettes much more enjoyable to use.

So when I first received the Xiwu P1 e-cigarette, I felt a bit of excitement because the design and development of this e-cigarette are quite thoughtful and impressive.

The Xiwu P1 e-cigarette is the world's first e-cigarette with a slide-out hidden mouthpiece design. You can push and pull it up and down to reveal and hide the pod, ensuring the mouthpiece stays clean. The "click" sound when pushing and pulling gives users a psychological cue similar to "lighting a lighter"—a rare traditional smoking ritual in the e-cigarette era. When pushed to the middle, there is a buckle to prevent it from popping out on its own. The push-pull force is just right, smooth, and does not get stuck. The hidden high-strength steel spring can withstand over 20,000 push-pulls. It's really impressive.

The Xiwu e-cigarette has a length of 10.6cm before inserting the pod and 12cm after, with a thickness of 1cm. The entire device is relatively long and thick, providing a solid grip. The body is made of stainless steel, polished to a bright and smooth finish, highlighting a sense of high quality. This design may not feel trendy enough for young people, but for seasoned smokers, it feels dignified and stable. The shape of the pod is also relatively understated.

It's worth mentioning that the draw resistance of the Xiwu e-cigarette surprised me. Personally, I believe that the draw resistance is a key factor in determining whether an e-cigarette is good or not. When I tried the Xiwu, there was no feeling of an empty draw, nor was there any awkwardness of not being able to draw. A smooth puff fills the mouth with rich "Xiwu" flavor, providing an extreme enjoyment, and the vapor production remains substantial. One puff is satisfying without needing to chain vape, making it very enjoyable. Additionally, the mouthpiece does not heat up during chain vaping, and there is no burning sensation, making the experience very comfortable—a true benefit for seasoned smokers.

Later, I casually researched more about Xiwu and found that the intelligent MCU chip in the P1 has an incredibly fast response time of just 0.00001 seconds. This instantaneous burst means that the first puff delivers a large amount of vapor. Moreover, the constant power of the Xiwu P1 ensures that the first puff and every subsequent puff are filled with substantial vapor. E-cigarette users often encounter the issue of not being able to draw on the first puff or having minimal vapor. This product defect, which could have been avoided, has been overlooked until the arrival of Xiwu, which has resolved this issue.

Currently, Xiwu offers six flavors: Classic Chinese Tobacco, International Mixed Tobacco, Arctic Ice, California Mango Orange, Caramel Iced Latte, and Banana Watermelon Ice. The last two flavors were just recently launched, especially the Banana Watermelon Ice, which is quite a unique combination. As a seasoned e-cigarette user, I had never heard of such a combination before. This flavor is said to have been developed by Xiwu's flavor lab in Silicon Valley, USA, after over 200 scientific adjustments, capturing the soft and sticky essence of banana and the juicy sweetness of watermelon, creating a delightful and unexpected mix that evokes the feeling of first love with every puff.

After hearing this, I replied to my friend with three words: "Speak plainly."

Then he replied with two words: "Good draw!"

However, as a seasoned smoker, my favorite remains the Classic Chinese Tobacco flavor. My biggest impression after using it is that it is "just right"! The flavor of the Chinese tobacco is very well-balanced, with a high degree of flavor restoration, pure and clean, possessing the refreshing aroma characteristic of e-cigarettes without any sweetness, and the unique throat hit of tobacco when inhaled. After smoking, there is a faint tobacco flavor left in the mouth, without the common bitterness—truly a rare find.

In terms of battery life, the Xiwu P1 has a battery capacity of 350mAh, with an official charging time of 45-60 minutes. In practice, it took 48 minutes to fully charge from an empty state, which aligns with the official specifications. The battery life of the device is more related to the frequency of personal use. Based on my actual usage, the P1's battery life matches its capacity well.

As for the oil leakage issue that seasoned smokers are most concerned about, I have to say that I previously used several e-cigarettes that leaked oil to the point where I questioned my life. Fortunately, Xiwu did not disappoint me. The Xiwu P1, as a pod-based product, comes with two pods (Arctic Ice and Classic Chinese Tobacco), each with a capacity of 1.3mL, which is considered standard in the industry. I finished the Classic Chinese Tobacco pod without any leakage. The Arctic Ice pod is almost finished, and there has been no leakage either. In this regard, I must give Xiwu a perfect score.

Then, I entered my quest for knowledge and learned that the Xiwu P1's honeycomb ceramic atomizer core is made from food-grade natural clay, using a unique process to achieve natural sintering, exceeding the RoHS standard requirements by 100 times. The ceramic sintering forms up to 300,000 micro and sub-micro-sized pores, creating capillary suction that locks the e-liquid firmly within the pod wall, thus controlling the leakage rate to within 0.05%. Quite impressive.

Now, several friends around me have been recommended to try Xiwu.
