When it comes to the AMIGO brand, many may find it unfamiliar. However, those who have heard of the Five Wheels electronic cigarette should be aware that it is a relatively influential e-cigarette manufacturer in China. Based on various evaluation shares, the e-cigarette market is still dominated by small devices, and Five Wheels has taken the opportunity to launch several small devices. This review focuses on the AMIGO brand's P8 pod-style small device.

1. Packaging

The packaging is a square hard paper box with a black main color scheme, and the overall style is relatively simple. The product image is printed in the center, but the color does not necessarily represent the internal device color; refer to the color label in the upper right corner.

The back contains all product information in English, where you can learn that the battery capacity of the device is 380mAh and the capacity is 1.2ml, which feels a bit small.

The package includes one device, two pods, and a data cable. The pods themselves are individually sealed in aluminum foil packaging. Since I received it already opened, the photos do not show the packaging. Each component has corresponding foam slots, making it difficult to damage during transport. The P8's pink is not overly feminine; under certain lighting, it may appear slightly orange, making it suitable for male users as well.

2. Appearance

The P8 is quite mini in size, roughly the length of five fingers. The device is made of lightweight anodized aluminum, with a nice matte texture that does not easily attract fingerprints like glossy surfaces. The anodized finish is also resistant to fading; as long as it is not scratched violently, it can maintain a fresh appearance. I personally like products with this finish. The design is simple, with one side featuring the brand logo and an LED indicator, while the other side displays the product model. There are no unnecessary elements, and the charging port is located at the bottom of the device, with a large circular oil observation window that resembles a cute big eye.

The connection between the device and the pod is quite loose, relying solely on magnetic attraction. The magnetism is not very strong, so the pod may wobble when attached. However, I tested it with a light shake, and it did not separate, which does not affect usage. The pod's electrodes are large, and there were no contact issues during use. The heating system of the pod is a ceramic core, with a white cylindrical hollow ceramic wrapped in a piece of non-woven cotton for oil delivery. The ceramic core is housed in a silicone sleeve with oil delivery holes on both sides. After using one pod, the cotton remains relatively clean, but the ceramic core has noticeably darkened, so I do not recommend refilling it for reuse.

The P8 uses the most common airflow switch found in small devices; simply insert the pod to use it. Since the airflow enters the pod through gaps, and the connection between the pod and device is not very tight, the draw resistance is not very strong. The first puff may feel a bit empty, but subsequent puffs after preheating are much better.

The pod flavors include one milk flavor and one mung bean flavor.

First, the milk flavor has a strong milky aroma, not the pure milk type, but rather reminiscent of milk candy. The smooth milk flavor has a hint of sweetness and no coolness. In small devices, this flavor is considered quite rich. This is my first time trying this type, and I was quite impressed.

The mung bean flavor is perfect for summer; mung bean soup and mung bean popsicles are essential during the hot season. This mung bean flavor gives me the feeling of a mung bean popsicle, providing a comfortable experience on a hot summer day. The coolness is moderate, but combined with the mung bean flavor, it gives a refreshing sensation.

3. Conclusion

Both pod flavors are quite good, with a slight throat hit that is satisfying without being harsh. The mung bean flavor is easier to vape compared to the milk flavor, which may feel a bit heavy in summer but would be more suitable for winter.

Overall, the P8 gives me a good impression. Although the packaging may not seem high-end, the craftsmanship of the device and pods is commendable. Most importantly, the flavors of the pods are very satisfying. The only downside is the draw resistance; if the connection were a bit tighter, the experience would be even better.
