Today, I would like to introduce a convenient smoking alternative— the ZQVi pod system.
1. ZQVi Pod Packaging
The packaging style is exquisite and minimalist, with a pure white front featuring only a silver-lined product image and the Vi logo in the lower right corner, leaving ample blank space for imagination. The packaging box is straightforward and clear. The front of the box displays a sketch of the product, with the Vi logo in the lower right corner. Upon opening the inner box, the ZQVi pod system is revealed, and its actual size is even more compact than expected. The package includes: ZQVi x1 (with one pre-installed pod), 5ml refill bottle x1, instruction manual x1, USB charging cable x1. The multilingual instruction manual includes detailed usage guidelines in Chinese.
2. ZQVi Pod Appearance
The dual-sided skin-like material panel has excellent fingerprint resistance, with a faux leather treatment on the button area. The upper part features the ZQ logo, and below it is a physical button. The overall shape is rounded, providing a comfortable grip. The side of the device is metallic, forming a solid structure that feels very sturdy.
The physical button does not protrude significantly, ensuring minimal risk of accidental activation when placed in a pocket. The USB port is centrally located at the bottom, enhancing the overall aesthetic, reminiscent of smartphone charging port designs.
The pod's top mouthpiece has a large opening, allowing for direct visibility of the coiled heating wire inside, suggesting that the vapor production will be impressive. The main device and pod connect magnetically, with a focus on the pod's airflow position, which is a first for ZQ. The pod's base features a honeycomb airflow structure, allowing for improved atomization and vapor production.
3. ZQVi Pod Usage
On the front lower part of the ZQ device, there is a small square button that also serves as an indicator light. Pressing it five times turns the device on and off, similar to many box mods. In the off state, a long press for three seconds allows switching between two output voltage levels. The green light indicates a constant voltage mode of 3.5V, while the white light indicates a full power mode of 4.2V. There are also two working modes: direct mouth-to-lung draw, activating the airflow switch; or pressing the button like a box mod to start the device.
The e-liquid used for testing was a 3% nicotine salt tropical mango provided with other pod systems. Both automatic and manual modes were tested, and the first impression was that the vapor production was responsive, with an exceptionally smooth draw, even allowing for light lung hits! For users accustomed to tighter draws, it may feel a bit airy, but this also correlates with the vapor production, which is another point to mention in the second user experience.
The second impression is the vapor production; in manual full power mode, it competes well with some mouth-to-lung devices, producing enough vapor that 3-5 puffs of 3% nicotine salt can satisfy cravings.
