In 2018, the global e-cigarette market reached a scale of hundreds of billions, with Shenzhen being the largest e-cigarette manufacturing center in the world, involving over 70 industrial chains. Many domestic e-cigarette companies achieved remarkable results in 2018. Recently, companies like Micwell, Jinjia Co., and Boton Group have made it to the Shenzhen Top 500 Enterprises list.

The e-cigarette market, primarily in Europe and the United States, is gradually maturing. With the introduction of a series of regulatory measures by the US FDA and the EU, Chinese e-cigarette standards are also awaiting final approval for release. E-cigarettes are beginning to become standardized, and the quality and production systems of global e-cigarette products are gradually improving, showing a rapid upward trend in the global e-cigarette market.

1. Micwell

Recently, the list of "2018 Shenzhen Top 500 Enterprises" was officially announced, and Micwell ranked 271st due to its industry-leading comprehensive strength. Jinjia Co. ranked 189th on the "2018 Shenzhen Top 500 Enterprises" list due to its industry-leading comprehensive strength, with an expected net profit exceeding 700 million yuan in 2018.

Jinjia Group's wholly-owned subsidiary, Shenzhen Jinjia Technology, entered the e-cigarette market in 2014, focusing on the design, R&D, production, marketing, and service of e-cigarettes and smart health smoking devices. The brand "Steam Life" under Jinjia Technology is the first shared e-cigarette (product recycling) series in China. Jinjia Technology actively promotes its products to tobacco companies and has cooperated with various tobacco companies in Yunnan, Shanghai, Henan, Shandong, Guangxi, and Chongqing. Jinjia's wholly-owned subsidiary, Shenzhen Jinjia Health, has established a joint venture with a subsidiary of Fosun Group, and Jinjia Technology has set up a partnership with Xiaomi's ecological chain enterprise, Beijing Miwu Technology Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Nanjiao Qianhai Innovation Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership) to establish Yiwai Technology. Additionally, Jinjia Co. has established a joint venture with Huayu Technology, a subsidiary of Yunnan Tobacco Company, to create Jiayu Technology. In the future, Jinjia will work with various partners to jointly promote technological R&D, product production, and sales in the new tobacco product field, enhancing competitiveness and influence in the new tobacco industry.

3. Boton Flavors

Boton Flavors Co., Ltd. ranked 315th on the "2018 Shenzhen Top 500 Enterprises" list due to its industry-leading comprehensive strength in the e-cigarette sector.

Founded in 2005 and listed in Hong Kong, Boton is the first listed flavor and fragrance company in China and one of the largest flavor and fragrance R&D bases in Asia. Its products cover tobacco, food, daily-use fragrances, pharmaceuticals, bioengineering, and electronic consumer goods. The "Boton" brand was awarded the "Shenzhen Time-honored Brand" honor in 2017. In 2016, Boton Group was formed, which includes subsidiaries such as Dongguan Boton, Boton (Shanghai) Biotechnology, Hong Kong Boton, Jirui Technology, and Yuanglin Technology.

In November 2015, Boton Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Kimree Jirui Technology, completing the acquisition of all shares in 2016. Kimree Technology, an international e-cigarette company established in 2006, specializes in OEM processing related to e-cigarette technology, with most products sold under various brands through tobacco companies, independent e-cigarette manufacturers, and other clients in over 20 countries, including most global tobacco companies and top e-cigarette brands. Boton collaborates with Sichuan Tobacco to develop new heated non-combustible tobacco products, with the first heated non-combustible tobacco device launched by Sichuan Tobacco being manufactured by Kimree in Huizhou. Huoqi is currently the main e-cigarette brand under Boton Group.

In addition to the aforementioned e-cigarette manufacturers making it to the Shenzhen Top 500 list, two large manufacturing enterprises in Shenzhen have also entered the e-cigarette production field: Foxconn, ranked 4th, and BYD, ranked 11th.

4. Foxconn

Foxconn ranked 4th on the "2018 Shenzhen Top 500 Enterprises" list due to its industry-leading comprehensive strength.

Foxconn is a global giant in the OEM industry, ranking first among the top 50 global EMS manufacturers in 2017. Foxconn is not only a major OEM for mobile 3C consumer electronics (Apple, Huawei, etc.) but has also entered the e-cigarette industry two to three years ago.

5. BYD

BYD ranked 11th on the official list of the "2018 Shenzhen Top 500 Enterprises" due to its industry-leading comprehensive strength.

BYD Electronics, a subsidiary of BYD, primarily manufactures electronic product metal structural parts, plastic structural parts, 3D glass, ceramics, chargers, lithium battery packs, and provides electronic product design, testing, and assembly services. Its products cover consumer electronics, automotive electronics, industrial electronics, and IoT industries. BYD Electronics is one of the major manufacturers in the mobile phone industry and is also extensively involved in the e-cigarette supply chain, including e-cigarette atomization cores, batteries, structural parts, and complete device assembly, providing services such as lithium batteries, structural components, and assembly to several tobacco giants.
