Research indicates that 90% of adult smokers began smoking before the age of 18, and 95% before the age of 21.

The rate of young people using e-cigarettes in China is alarmingly high. This is another reason prompting China to plan regulations on the e-cigarette industry. It has been proven that e-cigarette use among children, teenagers, and young adults is unsafe, as it is highly addictive and can impair brain development. In May of this year, China's mandatory national standard for e-cigarettes was completed and is currently awaiting approval.
