In a recent study, scientists found that e-cigarette vapor has no toxic side effects on human lung cells. This study was funded by British American Tobacco (BAT), and the conclusion is that inhaling e-cigarette vapor is as safe as inhaling clean air.

In this study, the tobacco giant collaborated with MatTek, a company that produces human cells for in vitro testing. Researchers used an "automatic smoking robot" to simulate human lung cells exposed to cigarette smoke, two different types of e-cigarette vapor, and pure air to observe the response of lung cells in different environments.

After being exposed to cigarette smoke for six hours, the lung cells had died. However, lung cells exposed to e-cigarette vapor showed no difference from those exposed to pure air. This experiment indicates that e-cigarette vapor has no toxic side effects on human lung cells.

Although there is currently no universal standard for the effects of e-cigarettes on human cells in vitro, Marina, the head of the research team at British American Tobacco, stated that this research method could potentially become one of the universal testing standards.

The health debate surrounding e-cigarettes has been ongoing for years, and more studies are gradually proving the safety of e-cigarettes. An increasing number of health experts believe that e-cigarettes are far safer than traditional cigarettes. Professor Michael Siegel from Boston University stated that despite the limitations of this study, it undoubtedly proves that e-cigarettes are much safer than cigarettes.

He urged health organizations and anti-tobacco groups to take action, suggesting that the public should replace cigarettes with e-cigarettes, which would change the so-called nicotine market and achieve significant victories for public health. Promoting e-cigarettes could bring miracles to human health and longevity.

At the same time, health experts also remind that overheating e-cigarette e-liquid may produce harmful substances. Additionally, overheating e-liquid can lead to dry burning, producing unpleasant odors. The e-cigarette community claims that some studies indicating e-cigarettes produce harmful substances are actually based on conclusions drawn under dry burning conditions.
