E-Cigarette Giant Juul Warns Non-Smokers to Stay Away from Its Products: Long-Term Effects Remain Un

On the 30th, Beijing time, Kevin Burns, CEO of American e-cigarette giant Juul Labs, warned those who have never smoked traditional cigarettes: do not use e-cigarettes.

In an interview with the media on Thursday, Burns stated: "Don't vape, don't use Juul. If you've never been exposed to nicotine before, don't start using it. You don't need to use this product; you're not our target customer."

Juul positions itself as an alternative to traditional cigarettes. However, when asked whether its products are safer than traditional cigarettes, Burns declined to comment.

He said: "Let's put it simply, cigarettes are known to be the leading cause of preventable death in the world and pose extreme, ongoing risks."

Burns acknowledged that the long-term health effects of e-cigarettes are still unknown. However, he stated: "We believe our products are legal and have undergone toxicity testing; you know, according to today's guidelines for such products, they do not pose a risk to the American public."

The CEO stated that if Juul knew its products were toxic or dangerous substances, it would not sell them.

He said: "I can't imagine we have enough data to prove that what we are selling is harmful to the American public; the existing data supports our continued sale of this product."
