Can You Use E-Cigarettes on a Plane? E-Cigarettes Are Prohibited During Flights

This June marks the 18th National Safety Production Month, and this year's theme is "Prevent Risks, Eliminate Hazards, and Stop Accidents." On the morning of June 16, China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Co., Ltd. held a "Safety Production Month Consultation Day" event at Changshui Airport's terminal, setting up eight consultation booths to provide information on ticketing, check-in, passenger transport, cargo transport, cabin safety, and aviation law. Through this promotional activity, passengers can further understand the safety operation and service standards of the airline and the relevant requirements for safe flying.
 
The content of this event mainly includes: safety promotion for passengers, a small quiz on passenger safety knowledge, a safety-themed "flash mob," and on-site consultations and Q&A. At the event, relevant staff from China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Co., Ltd. reminded passengers not to open safety doors on their own and that the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited in the aircraft cabin.

"As we are about to enter the peak summer travel season, we need to remind passengers not to open safety doors on their own and that the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited during flights," said Wang Zhifeng, the general manager of the safety supervision department of China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Co., Ltd. In the past two years, e-cigarettes have become quite popular, and on some long-haul flights, some passengers have secretly used e-cigarettes in the restroom, which is prohibited. "If we find passengers using e-cigarettes on the plane, the safety officer or air marshal will directly hand over the smoking passenger to the ground police for punishment according to the regulations."
