CDC reports nearly 100 lung injury cases in 14 states linked to vaping

According to foreign media reports, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) disclosed on Friday that it is assisting local health officials in investigating nearly 100 cases of lung injuries potentially linked to e-cigarettes containing liquid nicotine and THC solutions. Currently, these cases have been identified in five states, but many questions remain unanswered.
 
Reports indicate that there have been over 100 mysterious lung injury cases among e-cigarette patients in 14 states, including California, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The first reports of this illness came from the Wisconsin Department of Health, followed by similar reports from Illinois and Minnesota.

On Friday, the CDC confirmed that it is helping to investigate the situation in these five states, and now many other states are also reporting similar cases. Health officials disclosed that those affected are primarily young adults and teenagers, with some requiring oxygen, some being admitted to intensive care, and at least one person entering an induced coma.

Common symptoms among these individuals include difficulty breathing, coughing, fatigue, weight loss, fever, and diarrhea. Officials are currently unable to determine the specific products or suppliers involved in these cases, and they cannot provide a clear explanation for this illness, but they warn that it may be related to contaminants in some e-cigarette products.

While some patients' health conditions have improved, doctors are still unsure if they will fully recover.
