Does Vaping Affect Female Fertility?

Public messaging about the dangers of smoking is everywhere, and scientists have also pointed out that smoking can lead to infertility. As a result, many smokers turn to e-cigarettes to quit. However, recent research from the University of North Carolina
We can see everywhere that smoking is harmful to health, and there are scientists who have shown that smoking can cause infertility "Every day we say that smoking is harmful to health, in the end, what are the effects of smoking on male reproduction and offspring" "How does smoking affect male fertility?". The first thing you need to do is to use e-cigarettes to quit smoking. But recent research from the University of North Carolina shows that e-cigarettes can also affect pregnancy.
  E-cigarettes affect female fertility
In this study, researchers exposed female rats to e-cigarette vapor before and after they became pregnant, respectively. The results showed that mice exposed to e-cigarette vapor before pregnancy had impaired fertility, while mice exposed to e-cigarette vapor while pregnant developed health problems in their offspring.

Dr. Kathleen Caron, who led the study, said: “We found that using e-cigarettes before pregnancy significantly delayed implantation of fertilized embryos into the uterus, which delayed and reduced fertility (of the mice).

“We also found that e-cigarette use during pregnancy altered the long-term health and metabolism of female offspring, with lifelong second-generation effects on the growing fetus. ”

The reason for this link is unclear, and whether this finding applies to humans as well as mice. Nonetheless, the researchers are hopeful that this finding will highlight the health risks of e-cigarettes.

Dr. Caron added: “These findings are important because they change our view of the safety of e-cigarettes as an alternative to traditional cigarettes before and during pregnancy. ”

So not only is smoking bad for your health and secondhand smoke bad for your health, but now even e-cigarettes, secondhand e-cigarettes, can affect fertility.
