FDA Orders 44 Vaping Products Off the U.S. Market

According to SlashGear, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has ordered 44 vaping products to be removed from the U.S. market. The agency said these products cannot be legally sold because the manufacturers did not obtain proper marketing authorization.
According to foreign media SlashGear, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ordered the removal of 44 vaping products from the U.S. market. According to the agency, these products cannot be legally sold because the companies that manufacture them did not obtain the proper sales permits. Recently, the FDA has been investigating the potential link between vaping and seizures.

According to the FDA, the following companies are illegally selling various vaping products, meaning they have not obtained the agency's marketing authorization: Liquid Labs USA, V8P Juice International, Hookah Imports, and Mighty Vapors. The products covered by this notice include some "Hulk Tears" products and various "V8P Saltz" products.

These companies are required to respond to the FDA within 15 business days and provide information about their plans to cease distribution or sale of the applicable products. Dr. Ned Sharpless, acting commissioner of the FDA, stated:

We are committed to using all available regulatory tools to address the disturbing trend of youth vaping to ensure these products are not purchased or used by minors. It is crucial that we remain vigilant in our efforts to curb the rise of youth vaping and nicotine addiction, which could erase years of progress in preventing youth tobacco use.

Due to health officials' concerns about the unknown long-term consequences of vaping, the agency is cracking down on vaping products. Although vaping is largely considered less harmful than smoking, many studies have raised concerns about potential health consequences caused by contaminants and certain flavored e-liquids.
