On the morning of October 30, Beijing time, according to foreign media reports, sources revealed that Juul's CEO K.C. Crosthwaite has replaced the company's Chief Financial Officer.

The e-cigarette manufacturer Juul has recently undergone significant management changes, with several executives leaving, including Chief Administrative Officer Ashley Gould and Chief Financial Officer Tim Danaher. Both were seasoned employees in this young startup. Younger employees, such as former Chief Marketing Officer Craig Brommers and Senior Vice President of Advanced Technology David Foster, have also left.

"Without the help of those who have already left, our company would not have achieved what it has today," Crosthwaite wrote in an email, "I sincerely thank each of them."

A Juul spokesperson confirmed that the company has appointed Guy Cartwright as the new Chief Financial Officer. According to Cartwright's LinkedIn profile, he joined Juul in July this year, transitioning from operations management.

"Over the past three months, Guy has been helping us identify financial priorities and find opportunities for efficiency," the spokesperson said in a statement.

The spokesperson also mentioned that Juul has eliminated the Chief Marketing Officer position. It is currently unclear whether Juul will seek others to fill the positions left by Gould and Foster. Co-founders James Monsees and Adam Bowen, who previously served as Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively, will jointly join the newly established Founders Office to assist Crosthwaite.

These changes were announced in an email sent to employees. Additionally, Juul is preparing to lay off around 500 employees, or about 10% to 15% of its current workforce, by the end of this year. Before the layoffs, Juul claimed to have 4,100 employees.

"As the e-cigarette industry undergoes inevitable adjustments, the company's restructuring can help JUUL Labs focus on reducing underage usage, investing in scientific research, and developing new technologies, while also striving for operating licenses in the US and globally," Crosthwaite mentioned in another statement regarding the layoffs.
