Vaping Standards Planned, with 30 Production Licenses Expected

On September 27, according to Caixin, standards for e-cigarettes are expected to be introduced soon, but not as an official national standard. They may first be issued as a standards plan, while the formal standard is expected to be released within one to two years. E-cigarette companies will have a transition period for the time being.

Caixin also reported that the Tobacco Monopoly Administration has already begun implementing a licensing system for e-cigarette manufacturers. It is expected to issue 30 production licenses, and 5 companies have already obtained licenses, although no manufacturer has disclosed this publicly so far.
