RELX Helps Police Bust Counterfeit Engraved Vape Device Workshop

According to RELX, a batch of counterfeit engraved vape pens impersonating RELX and a well-known brand has recently circulated in the market. These counterfeit products have not undergone standardized quality certification, raising serious safety concerns, with several incidents of battery explosions reported.

In response, RELX issued a consumer warning in April this year, reminding consumers to stay away from counterfeit products such as engraved vape pens and transparent cartridges. At the same time, RELX's "Golden Shield Action" has collaborated with the multinational anti-counterfeiting team of Louis Vuitton LV Group to assist law enforcement agencies in various regions in cracking down on counterfeit products, seizing multiple batches of engraved vape pens.

Before this successful dismantling of the counterfeit workshop, RELX's "Golden Shield Action" had already assisted the police in solving 71 cases, removing over 18,000 infringing and non-compliant products, including engraved vape pens and transparent cartridges.

RELX's consumer warning indicates that, in addition to engraved vape pens, various generic RELX glowing cartridges and transparent cartridges circulating in the market are also not official RELX products. According to testing results from RELX laboratories, these cartridges mostly contain low-quality e-liquids, with harmful substances, especially benzene compounds, exceeding safe limits, and discrepancies between actual nicotine content and packaging claims. Excessive benzene compounds can have anesthetic effects on the central nervous system and even pose serious poisoning risks. Long-term use of such products can pose significant health threats.

Additionally, a study published in the authoritative journal Tobacco Induced Diseases shows that nicotine is very sensitive to light. If e-liquid is repeatedly exposed to sunlight, nicotine will degrade, affecting the user experience and posing potential threats. Furthermore, the production workshops for these transparent cartridges not only have poor hygiene conditions but also use fake "CE certificates" and other foreign certifications to mislead consumers, often lacking proper after-sales service and quality certifications. In the event of disputes, it will be very difficult to protect consumer rights.
