Scotland to Ban Vape Ads While NHS Still Promotes Vaping

On February 9, reports emerged that despite the Scottish government's impending ban on vape advertisements, the NHS (National Health Service) in Scotland continues to promote vaping.

Health officials have launched a new campaign to persuade smokers to quit their addiction, encouraging them to choose vaping as an alternative.

The UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is investigating two deaths related to vaping over the past year. It has also received 20 reports of serious adverse reactions related to e-cigarettes.

The Scottish government announced last September that it would consult on a complete ban on e-cigarettes and vaping advertisements in the coming months and legislate if necessary.
