NPC Deputy Proposes Regulations for the E-Cigarette Industry
An NPC deputy has called for faster regulation of the vaping industry, citing unclear nicotine levels, unknown health effects of flavor additives, and insufficient standards for electronic components.
During this year's National People's Congress, representative He Lin proposed suggestions on "protecting teenagers from e-cigarettes and accelerating the establishment of industry regulations." She stated that currently, there are no industry standards for e-cigarettes in China, the nicotine content is unclear, and the health effects of other added flavoring substances are also unknown. Additionally, the substances contained in some electronic components are not clear. Therefore, industry regulations are urgently needed.
