Jiangsu Jurong: Three departments launch special inspections of e-cigarettes near schools

To further protect minors from the harms of e-cigarettes, on June 16 the Jurong City Procuratorate in Jiangsu Province joined with the Municipal Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and the Market Supervision Administration to carry out a special inspection of e-cigarettes around school campuses.

During the joint inspection, inspectors checked vaping shops operating near schools. The inspection covered whether business licenses were valid, whether any operations exceeded the approved business scope, and whether signs prohibiting sales to minors were posted in prominent locations. For shops that did not comply with operating standards, inspectors required on-site rectification. During the inspection, officials also posted the “Notice on Further Protecting Minors from the Harm of E-Cigarettes” inside vaping shops.

Next, the procuratorate will continue to work with relevant departments to carry out special inspections of vaping shops near schools throughout the city.
