Beijing Tongzhou Beiyuan Market Authority Launches E-Cigarette Inspections

In accordance with the notice issued by the district bureau, the Beiyuan Market Authority in Tongzhou District has actively carried out a special inspection campaign targeting the e-cigarette market. On May 21, the Beiyuan Market Authority, together with the Tobacco Bureau, conducted inspections of e-cigarette businesses in the Wanda commercial district, urging operators not to sell e-cigarettes to minors, not to establish e-cigarette sales websites or apps, not to set up online stores for selling e-cigarette products, and to voluntarily remove any e-cigarette products currently being sold through online channels.

No related illegal or non-compliant activities were found during this inspection. Going forward, the Beiyuan Market Authority will continue to maintain close oversight of e-cigarette business operators, strengthen routine inspections, conduct broader investigations, and update and improve its records. It will also actively promote, implement, remind, and urge compliance with national e-cigarette regulatory requirements among physical retail merchants, in order to effectively protect the healthy development of young people.
