Beijing Tongzhou Beiyuan Market Office conducts special e-cigarette inspections
Beijing’s Tongzhou Beiyuan Market Office launched special e-cigarette inspections, urging sellers not to sell to minors and not to operate online sales sites, apps, or web-based sales channels.
In accordance with the notice issued by the district bureau, the Beiyuan Market Office in Tongzhou District has proactively carried out a special inspection of the e-cigarette market. On May 21, the Beiyuan Market Office, together with the Tobacco Bureau, inspected e-cigarette business operators in the Wanda commercial area, urging them not to sell e-cigarettes to minors, not to establish e-cigarette sales websites or apps, not to set up online stores for e-cigarette sales, and to remove any e-cigarette products being sold through online channels.
No related illegal or non-compliant issues were found during this inspection. Going forward, the Beiyuan Market Office will continue to maintain close oversight of e-cigarette business operators, strengthen routine inspections, conduct broad investigations, update and improve its records, and actively publicize, implement, urge compliance with, and remind brick-and-mortar merchants of the national regulatory requirements for e-cigarettes, so as to effectively safeguard the healthy growth of minors.
