Shenzhen Fuhai Screens for Cannabis Vapes and Promotes Drug Prevention
To strengthen controls on cannabis-related vapes, Shenzhen’s Fuhai subdistrict carried out inspections and anti-drug outreach, aiming to prevent drug-related risks from entering the vaping industry.
On June 11, it was reported that in response to the national regulation of synthetic cannabinoids, efforts are being made to strengthen the inspection and control of "high electronic cigarettes" to prevent new drug risks associated with the electronic cigarette industry. Taking the implementation anniversary of the "6.1" anti-drug law as an opportunity, on the afternoon of June 1, 2021, the Anti-Drug Office of Fuhai Street in Bao'an District conducted preliminary inspections in the Zhancheng community.
The event primarily involved sending a letter of advocacy to electronic cigarette companies, informing them of the legal responsibilities and policy requirements arising from the regulation of synthetic cannabinoids. Inspections were conducted on the company's registered address, legal representative, main contacts and methods, type of business, business scale, main brands and models, sources of e-liquid, and daily management records. Company leaders were urged to strictly control raw materials such as e-liquid and enhance product sampling to ensure their products do not contain drug components. At the same time, anti-drug social workers educated company leaders on laws and regulations as well as anti-drug knowledge, further raising their awareness of drug prevention.
In the future, the Anti-Drug Office of Fuhai Street will continue to carry out training activities on anti-drug laws and knowledge for electronic cigarette companies in the area, creating a positive anti-drug atmosphere.
