Jiangsu Jurong: Joint Inspection of E-cigarettes Around Schools by Three Departments

To further protect minors from the harms of e-cigarettes, on June 16, the People's Procuratorate of Jurong City, Jiangsu Province, conducted a special inspection of e-cigarettes around schools in collaboration with the Municipal Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and the Market Supervision Administration.

During the joint inspection, the inspectors checked e-cigarette shops near schools, focusing on whether their business licenses were valid, whether they were operating beyond their scope, and whether they had prominently displayed signs prohibiting sales to minors. Shops that did not comply with business regulations were required to rectify on-site. During the inspection, the inspectors also posted a notice titled "Further Protecting Minors from the Harms of E-cigarettes" inside the e-cigarette shops.

In the next step, the procuratorate will continue to conduct special inspections of e-cigarette shops near schools in the city in collaboration with relevant departments.
