Major News: RELX May Launch Low-Cost Pods, 3-Pack for RMB 60

On February 4, news broke that RELX, the leading domestic e-cigarette brand, is suspected to be launching an entry-level pod product, with related information already circulating among agents. This series of pods is called RELX Soft Mist Pods and has already been listed in the agent's backend.
 
According to industry media reports from Blue Hole New Consumption, this pod pack contains three pieces and is priced at 60 RMB. Relevant information indicates that there are currently three flavors available: tobacco, fruit, and menthol, compatible with the Phantom and Infinity devices.

It is speculated that this series of pods will feature cotton cores.

RELX's move will have a significant impact on the domestic e-cigarette market.

Since last year, the domestic e-cigarette market has seen competition from low-priced entry-level products, with YOOZ being the first to launch a 9.9 RMB device compatible with its pods, followed by several manufacturers introducing low-priced device and pod replacement kits, sparking discussions within the industry.

However, unlike the low-priced device strategies adopted by the aforementioned manufacturers, RELX is directly launching low-priced pods, which are 40% cheaper than the normally sold pods priced at 33 RMB each, providing a significant benefit for frequent e-cigarette users.

With lower prices, the user base may grow, and it can also address the issue of RELX's popular pods being out of stock.

RELX's low-priced pod strategy may also impact the domestic compatible pod market. Pods priced at 20 RMB each will greatly compress the space for counterfeit products, especially since these are official products.
