Shenzhen Orders Vape Firms to Sign Pledge Not to Sell to Minors

On July 6, according to New Consumer Tracker, the Electronic Cigarette Industry Committee of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (hereinafter referred to as the E-Cigarette Committee) issued a notice announcing that the first signing ceremony for the “Pledge Not to Sell E-Cigarettes to Minors” by e-cigarette companies will be held at 15:00 on Monday, July 12, at the E-Cigarette Committee office. Relevant e-cigarette companies are encouraged to participate actively.
 
The E-Cigarette Committee stated that on June 18, the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued the Notice on the Special Action Plan to Protect Minors from Tobacco Harm, titled “Guarding Growth.” To further protect minors from e-cigarettes and prevent the sale of e-cigarettes to minors, the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision Administration and the Shenzhen Tobacco Monopoly Bureau notified the E-Cigarette Committee to organize member companies to study and implement the spirit of the special action, carry out corporate self-inspection and rectification, and sign the “Pledge Not to Sell E-Cigarettes to Minors.”
