Dabu Police Inspect Vape Sales Around Schools
Police in Dabu joined multiple agencies to inspect shops around schools for illegal vape sales, including cannabis vaping devices, as part of a campaign to protect minors.
On the morning of June 4, 2021, the Anti-Drug Brigade of the Dabu County Public Security Bureau, together with the County Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, County Market Supervision Administration, County Education Bureau, and County Women’s Federation, carried out a special inspection targeting the illegal sale of e-cigarettes and cannabis vaping devices around schools.

At Hushan Middle School, Experimental Middle School, and Dabu Primary School in the county town, members of the joint inspection team checked retail shops, stationery stores, and food service outlets around the campuses for any illegal sales of e-cigarettes and cannabis vaping devices. Officers from the Anti-Drug Brigade also educated shop operators near the schools about new types of drugs such as “cannabis e-cigarettes,” “Kawa trendy drinks,” and “little twigs,” and guided them on how to identify such substances during daily business operations. They also informed operators that storing, selling, transporting, or using cannabis vaping devices constitutes illegal and criminal activity, and that any such behavior should be promptly reported to the police.
A total of 15 business premises were inspected during this special operation, and 50 informational leaflets were distributed. No cases of illegal sales of e-cigarettes or cannabis vaping devices were found. Through education and awareness efforts, the campaign effectively strengthened anti-drug awareness around schools and improved local business operators’ ability to recognize and guard against drugs.
Police reminder: Under the law, in order to protect the physical and mental health of minors, all market entities are prohibited from selling e-cigarettes to minors. Any organization or individual should discourage and stop the sale of e-cigarettes to minors. Those who violate the rules by making such sales will be dealt with seriously in accordance with the law.
