On the 12th, the U.S. FDA issued warning letters to 11 companies selling unauthorized e-cigarettes.

The companies that received warning letters were Jojo’s Smokeless World (Mod Shield), Sugar Vapor Co., DC Vapor, Take Off Corp, The Vapor Spot, Premium Vapor Technologies, Vaping Xtreme, Vapes Gone Wild Juice, Vapeoholic, Vapescence (Vape King USA), and Element Vape.

As of September 9, 2020, these companies had not submitted premarket PMTA applications.

Together, these companies listed more than 150,000 products with the FDA.

After announcing the first round of such warning letters earlier this year, the FDA continued issuing additional warning letters targeting these types of products. The FDA sent out 10 warning letters in mid-January.

The agency wrote in a statement: “Under a court order, applications for premarket review had to be submitted by September 9, 2020, for certain new tobacco products on the market, including e-liquids.”
