UKVIA Urges Vape Shops to Follow UK Government Closure Guidance

After a local paper reported a vape shop owner was arrested for staying open, UKVIA urged retailers to follow government closure guidance and wait until the green light to reopen.
A local newspaper reported that the owner of a vape shop was arrested for keeping the retail store open, prompting UKVIA to issue a press release urging vape retailers to follow government guidance. “We understand that we are talking about livelihoods here, but it is crucial for the industry to follow government guidance. We must wait until the green light is given to reopen,” said John Dunne, director of UKVIA.

At the same time, the association also released another press release to reassure vape users nationwide that despite store closures, they can still access their devices. In addition to the usual dedicated online retailers and manufacturing facilities, brick-and-mortar store owners are also looking to boost sales through their websites, and many have already set up delivery services.

“Meanwhile, vape retailers are offering online and delivery services. Furthermore, although supermarkets and corner shops allowed to remain open do not have a dedicated range of vape products available for sale, consumers can still purchase vape devices and e-liquids from these stores,” Dunne said.
