According to the Korea Herald, KT&G plans to build an eco-friendly tobacco packaging plant in Sejong City.


Under the 180 billion won (133.5 million USD) project, the plant will be constructed in the Sejong Future Industrial Zone developed by the government for local manufacturing companies by 2025.
KT&G stated that the plant will produce tobacco packaging, such as cigarette paper and cigarette boxes, based on cutting-edge logistics automation systems and digital printing technology.
The company is keen to lead in energy and environmental design, aiming to obtain eco-friendly certification by using renewable energy sources, including solar energy, and upgrading air (pollution) and wastewater infrastructure.
