Anti-Tobacco Advocates Doubt PMI Will Really Give Up Traditional Tobacco Products
An investigation by UK media and consultants said anti-tobacco advocates doubt whether Philip Morris International will truly phase out conventional tobacco while promoting heated tobacco products.
According to reports from Channel 4 Television in the UK, a survey conducted by a local television station in collaboration with a consulting agency indicates that Philip Morris International, which operates tobacco businesses in the UK, has begun promoting its so-called "reduced risk" new heated tobacco products.
At the same time, Philip Morris International has publicly announced its efforts to abandon traditional tobacco products, hoping to cease the production and sale of its well-known traditional cigarette brand—Marlboro—in the UK in the near future.

In response, anti-tobacco advocates question whether big tobacco companies will really give up traditional tobacco products in the future, expressing their skepticism.
