Australia e-cigarettes pose a serious health threat, especially to young people, containing 200 dangerous chemicals and nicotine.

According to a recent report by media outlet Insurancebusinessmag, the latest data from Australian private healthcare institutions shows that in recent years, e-cigarettes have led to severe health complications for 178 individuals in Australia, requiring hospitalization, including two deaths, one of which involved a child who was accidentally poisoned.

The data indicates that since 2020, seven children under the age of 15 have been hospitalized due to e-cigarette-related illnesses or injuries, including a two-year-old child. Additionally, 19 individuals aged between 15 and 24 have required hospitalization due to vaping, with an average hospital stay of 5.6 days.

Dr. Rachel David, CEO of Australian private healthcare, stated that this data may only represent a small fraction of actual cases, as it only covers individuals hospitalized with health insurance.

She said, "This further demonstrates the danger and addictive threat that e-cigarettes pose to Australians of all ages, including young people who may not realize they are gambling with their health."

"E-cigarettes may smell sweet and appear mild, but studies show they contain up to 200 chemicals, including herbicides and paint thinners. We also know that many products claiming to be nicotine-free actually contain addictive substances."
