US Medical Study: Vapes Surpass Cigarettes as Young People’s First Choice for Smoking Initiation
Recent medical research shows that an increasing number of young people are choosing vapes over traditional cigarettes, with the number of youths starting to smoke through vapes surpassing those starting with traditional cigarettes for the first time.
According to medical media News Medical on November 13, a recent study from the Medical University of South Carolina indicates that more and more American youths are opting for vapes instead of traditional cigarettes, with the number of young people starting to smoke through vapes exceeding those starting with traditional cigarettes for the first time.
According to the PATH (Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health) study, 14.5% of adults aged 18 to 24 regularly use vapes, a figure higher than the 11% previously reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The next wave of PATH study data, expected to be released in the fall of 2024, is anticipated to show even higher growth.
The data also indicates a continuous upward trend in vape usage, with 56% of regular vape users having never smoked traditional cigarettes.
