KT&G receives Presidential Commendation at the 2023 Culture Awards

KT&G received the grand prize at the “2023 Culture Awards” in recognition of its investment in culture and the arts and its community-building initiatives with local regions, including five nationwide “Sangsangmadang” cultural and arts projects.

According to a Naver report, KT&G announced at the “2023 Culture Awards” ceremony held on November 22 at The Westin Josun Seoul in Jung-gu, Seoul, that it had received the Presidential Commendation, the top honor of the awards.  

Hosted by the Culture Awards Association since 1999, the “Culture Awards” are presented annually to companies that have made outstanding contributions to culture and the arts in Korea.  

Centered on KT&G Sangsangmadang, its multidisciplinary cultural and arts spaces located in five regions across the country, KT&G received the award again for the first time since 2015 for its efforts to foster cultural and artistic talent and promote coexistence with local communities. Through Sangsangmadang, KT&G supports the creative activities of emerging artists and offers the public a wide range of cultural experiences, including performances, art, photography, and film.
