Vape Shop in the Philippines Burglarized, Police Suspect an Employee
A vape shop in Pasig City, the Philippines, was burglarized, with stolen goods worth about 200,000 Philippine pesos. After investigating, police suspect that a store employee was involved. The employee in question has now been detained by police.
According to a quick report by GMA Integrated News in the Philippines on October 24, a vape shop in Pasig City was robbed shortly after midnight. Store surveillance footage showed that an employee closed the shop after midnight. A car then pulled up in front of the store, and in less than five minutes, two suspects got out, emerged from the shop carrying sacks, and quickly drove away.
According to the police investigation, the store’s padlock was opened using a staff key. The employee involved claimed that he had been kidnapped at a street corner and then forced into a car and taken away.
The vape shop owner believes there is something suspicious about the incident, as the perpetrators appeared to have obtained the shop key in advance.
She said the store’s surveillance system had stopped recording several hours before the theft, and the total value of the stolen goods was about 200,000 Philippine pesos.
At present, the employee involved has been detained, and police are still investigating the case. They said the possibility of the theft being an inside job has not been ruled out.
