Data shows that about 22% of Australians aged 18-24 have used e-cigarettes or vaping devices at least once. Although purchasing nicotine e-cigarettes in Australia requires a prescription, the thriving illegal market means they are easily accessible. The Australian Health Minister has stated that the government will ban the import of non-prescription e-cigarette products and will establish minimum quality standards, including restrictions on e-cigarette flavors, (packaging) colors, and other ingredients; packaging will be similar to that of pharmaceuticals, and disposable e-cigarettes will be explicitly prohibited.
