The New South Wales government in Australia has announced that it will hold a vaping roundtable on November 16 to discuss the increasingly serious vaping issue in schools across New South Wales.
Recently, the New South Wales government announced that it will hold a vaping roundtable on November 16 to address the growing vaping problem in schools.
This week, the state government has sent invitations to key stakeholders to participate in the first vaping roundtable hosted by the New South Wales government. The roundtable will hear from principals, students, health experts, and other key stakeholders about the impact of vaping on the entire community. The vaping roundtable will listen to testimonies on how vaping affects young people and schools, and discuss effective school intervention measures.
Invited participants include the New South Wales Department of Education, the New South Wales Teachers Federation, and others.
Additionally, some principals from public, independent, and Catholic primary and secondary schools in New South Wales have also been invited to discuss their experiences in dealing with vaping and vaping-related incidents in schools.
This initiative is part of an additional AUD 6.8 million investment by the Labor government to combat the illegal sale of vaping products and support young people addicted to vaping.
New South Wales Premier Chris Minns stated:
“We are committed to addressing the prevalence of vaping in New South Wales schools.”
