Malaysian Police Investigate “Cannabis Vaping Devices,” Urge the Public to Share Information
Police in Sabah, Malaysia, are closely monitoring “cannabis vaping devices” appearing on the market and are urging the public to provide relevant information.
According to a breaking report by Malaysia’s The Star on October 12, police in Sabah are closely watching so-called “cannabis vaping devices” that have reportedly entered the local market.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun did not disclose the progress of the investigation, but he urged the public to inform the police if they have any information. “If you have information, please share it with us,” he said when asked.
Recently, there have been rumors that some people have begun using vaping products containing cannabis, especially in bars and karaoke clubs where they are said to be circulating widely. These “cannabis vaping devices” reportedly look similar to ordinary e-cigarettes, but they cannot be refilled with e-liquid and are discarded after use.
It is believed that these products were brought in from Malaysia’s neighboring countries, and there have been no reports so far of local production.
Earlier this month, police arrested four local men suspected of distributing cannabis-containing e-liquid for e-cigarettes. The four suspects, aged between 22 and 31, were detained during three raids carried out on October 3 and October 4.
