Turkish Police Bust Smuggling Case Involving Vaping Devices, Investigate 13 Suspects

The Izmir police in Turkey successfully cracked a large-scale smuggling operation, seizing a significant amount of smuggled products. In 12 operations, legal action was taken against 13 suspects, and various smuggled items were confiscated, including smuggled oils, cigarettes, and alcoholic beverages.
According to Turkish media Medyaege, during the smuggling operations across nine administrative districts in Izmir, Turkish police initiated legal investigations against 13 suspects and seized a large quantity of smuggled products, including smuggled vaping devices, cigarettes, and alcoholic beverages.
The trafficking crime enforcement department in Izmir conducted 12 independent operations locally. In these operations, legal investigations were initiated against 13 suspects. During the searches, 370,000 empty cigarette tips, 50,000 filled cigarette tips, 23.1 tons of smuggled oils, 469 packs of smuggled cigarettes, 128 bottles of counterfeit or smuggled alcohol, 6 vaping devices, and 38 bottles of vaping e-liquid were seized.
