Brazil Continues Crackdown on Illegal Vaping Products, Plans to Expand Enforcement

Brazil has cracked down on illegal e-cigarettes, seizing 250 e-cigarettes and 221 bottles of e-liquid, with a total value of 90,000 reais, which will be destroyed.

Recently, according to Brazilian media Correio24horas, police have inspected four stores. This operation was conducted by the Anti-Corruption, Organized Crime, and Money Laundering Department (Draco) in collaboration with the Economic Crimes and Anti-Public Administration Department (DecECAP) and health surveillance agencies.

In the communities of the city and Lauro de Freitas, this operation seized 250 e-cigarettes, 221 bottles of e-liquid, 98 atomizers, and two e-cigarette chargers. The total value of these seized items is 90,000 reais (approximately 126,000 RMB), and they will be destroyed.

These stores were fined for violating administrative regulations and failing to comply with the decisions of the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVS), and a joint crackdown on the e-cigarette market will continue by specialized units.
