On September 21, 2023, Greater Manchester Police, in collaboration with the Trading Standards Agency, conducted inspections at three locations in Stockport, seizing illegal e-cigarettes worth £80,000. These e-cigarette products were confiscated due to exceeding the legal limit for e-liquid content, with some displaying incorrect health warnings.According to current UK law, the legal limit for nicotine content in disposable e-cigarettes is no more than 2%, and the capacity must not exceed 2 milliliters—approximately 600 puffs. In addition to the seized e-cigarettes, Greater Manchester Police also collaborated with Trading Standards enforcement officers to confiscate 942 e-cigarettes from iBlaze Vape on September 14, 2023, with a market value of approximately £16,500. The total value of the illegal e-cigarettes seized amounts to £96,500 (approximately 860,000 RMB).Greater Manchester Police stated: "Many of the seized disposable e-cigarettes were packaged and flavored specifically to attract children and young people. The number of children and young people using e-cigarettes is rapidly increasing, including the use of cheaper illegal and unregulated e-cigarettes, which is very concerning.""The health impact on minors could be significant, and the rise of disposable e-cigarettes is causing environmental issues nationwide. Greater Manchester Police is committed to making communities safer and achieving better living and working conditions, and we will always work closely with community members to ensure this goal is met."
